"Sapphire is named from the Sanskrit sanipriya, meaning “dear to the planet Saturn,” and is an important Vedic healing gem. In the West it was used to frighten away demons and evil. Traditionally worn on the right side of the body, it was said to protect its owner from imprisonment and to assist with legal matters. Known as the wisdom stone, Sapphire focuses and calms the mind, releasing unwanted thoughts and mental tension. This stone alleviates depression and spiritual confusion, attracting prosperity and gifts of all kinds. Placed on the throat, it releases frustration and aids self-expression."
"Blue Sapphire is a stone for the seeker after spiritual truth and is traditionally associated with love and purity. This tranquil stone assists in staying on the spiritual path and is used in shamanic ceremonies to transmute negative energies. Extremely effective for earth and chakra healing, it stimulates the thyroid, and facilitates self-expression and speaking one’s own truth."
